Mobile deck slab erector that can self-install or remove deck slabs

Highway Strider

Summary

The Highway Strider is a mobile deck slab erector that can be installed within the width of a single lane on a roadway. It is a gantry crane, and the strut extends and retracts automatically and quickly in vertical and horizontal directions, eliminating the need for lifting equipment for assembly and disassembly.

It can be folded compactly so that it can be mobilized with a trailer, and can be demobilized with a trailer as well after the installation is completed.

Conventionally, large cranes have been used to erect slabs, however these cranes have long setup times and require multiple lane closures. The Highway Strider can be used for slab replacement work in urban areas with strict lane restrictions, as well as for day-to-day installation and removal work.

Features

Setup in Narrow Spaces

  • Expands automatically to be set up in a single lane without the use of lifting equipment.
  • The deck slabs can be installed or removed within narrow working spaces.

Lightweight to Reduce Impact on Existing Structures

  • Compared to large mobile cranes, the weight and reaction forces are smaller, reducing the impact on existing slabs and girders during construction.
